A safe, structured, home-like environment with consistent staff oversight and support to help residents navigate daily living.
Independent Living Skills
Guided practice in the practical skills needed to live independently — from household management to self-care routines.
Budgeting & Financial Literacy
Learning to manage money, open bank accounts, understand bills, build savings, and plan for financial goals.
Meal Planning & Cooking Skills
Grocery shopping on a budget, meal prep, nutrition basics, and building healthy eating habits.
Employment Readiness
Resume writing, interview preparation, job search support, and guidance on workplace expectations.
Educational Support
Encouragement and assistance with GED completion, college enrollment, vocational training, and academic goal setting.
Goal Planning
Individualized goal-setting support to help residents identify short- and long-term milestones and track progress toward independence.
Life Skills Development
Structured support covering communication, conflict resolution, time management, and decision-making to build everyday competence.
Community Resource Connections
Linking residents to local services including healthcare, transportation, housing assistance, and community programs.
Ongoing Guidance & Accountability
Regular check-ins with program staff to celebrate wins, address challenges, and stay on track with personal goals.

What We Work Toward Together
Each resident's journey is unique. The following outcomes represent the goals we strive to support through individualized guidance and collaboration with case managers, community partners, and other members of the support team.
Independent Living Skills
- Demonstrates increased confidence managing daily responsibilities such as budgeting, household tasks, meal preparation, and time management.
- Creates and follows a basic monthly budget with support as needed.
- Completes routine daily living tasks with increasing consistency and reduced prompting over time.
Education & Employment
- Actively pursues educational, vocational, or employment opportunities that support long-term self-sufficiency.
- Identifies short- and long-term education or career goals with support.
- Demonstrates employment readiness by completing applications, preparing for interviews, or maintaining school or work attendance.
Personal Growth
- Strengthens communication, decision-making, problem-solving, self-advocacy, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates increased personal responsibility by following through on goals, appointments, and agreed-upon expectations.
- Develops healthy coping strategies and uses appropriate support systems when facing challenges.
Housing Stability
- Identifies safe, stable housing options that align with the resident's needs, budget, and transition plan.
- Builds understanding of lease expectations, tenant responsibilities, and basic household management.
- Develops practical plans for rent, utilities, transportation, and ongoing housing support.
Transition Readiness
- Leaves Serenity at Pat's with increased independence, stronger community connections, and improved readiness for adulthood.
- Demonstrates progress toward individualized transition goals.
- Identifies key community resources and supportive relationships to rely on after transition.

What We Do Not Provide
We believe in transparency. The following services are outside the scope of our SLA program. We will always work to connect residents with appropriate community resources for needs beyond our scope.
Clinical mental health therapy or psychiatric services
Substance abuse treatment or detox programs
Medical or nursing care
Legal representation or court advocacy
Emergency shelter or crisis housing
Childcare or parenting support services
